UNITED XI CLAIM TADCASTER WIN

3-0 pre-season victory at the i2i Stadium...

A Leeds United XI ran out 3-0 winners over Tadcaster Albion in Wednesday evening's pre-season friendly.

With Uwe Rosler leading the side for the 1-1 draw at York City, assistant boss Rob Kelly and goalkeeping coach Richard Hartis took charge of a team which blended youth and senior experience in a bid to share the playing time across the squad.

It took United just five minutes to open the scoring at the i2i Stadium, with Mirco Antenucci calmly tucking away a left-footed finish.

Billy Sharp added the second shortly after the restart, rounding the hosts’ goalkeeper Gary Stevens to double the lead with a neat finish.

And the third came courtesy of Souleymane Doukara, who was able to slot underneath Tadcaster’s substitute goalkeeper Pete Lawrie.

United team: Silvestri, Coyle, Killock, Cooper, Denton, Phillips, Sloth, Doukara, Walters, Antenucci, Sharp. Subs. Grimes, Skelton, McDaid, Lyman, Parkin, Mulhern, Stokes, Trialist.
