United’s Development Squad will head for North Wales on Tuesday for a potentially emotional meeting with Colwyn Bay.

Neil Redfearn will take a team largely comprising of young professionals for a friendly match at Llanelian Road.

Before the game, the two teams will be presented to Roger and Carol Speed, the parents of our former title winner, who tragically passed away in 2011.

Gary, who hailed from North Wales, started his career at Leeds and made 312 appearances, scoring 57 goals, and played a part in both our promotion winning season of 1989/90 and our title campaign two years later.

Gary’s parents are still based in North Wales and are regular visitors to Colwyn Bay FC.

The game kicks-off at 7.30pm and it’s hoped any local based Leeds fans will show their support.
