MISSION CHRISTMAS: CASH FOR KIDS

MISSION CHRISTMAS: CASH FOR KIDS

Drop your presents off at Elland Road before this Saturday's game...

Thousands of children in poverty will wake up to a Christmas without presents this year. In central Leeds alone 39% of children are classed as living in poverty.

That's why Leeds based station Radio Aire have launched Mission Christmas. They are asking you to buy just one extra present this year – a gift that they'll give to a disadvantaged child to make their Christmas morning that little bit brighter.

They are looking for new and unwrapped gifts suitable for children and young people aged 0 to 18 years and you can drop off your gift here at Elland Road on Saturday 13 December prior to our home fixture against Fulham.

The Portakabin located next to the West Stand Ticket Office will be the designated present drop off point between 1pm and 3pm, please note that we ask that all presents are donated within this time and are left unwrapped.

Lisa Sullivan Charity Manager says: “A massive thank you to our wonderful patron Terry George for organising this with the wonderful team at Leeds United. I would encourage everyone to just take a little moment to stop and think about the children across Leeds and West Yorkshire that are at risk of waking up to nothing on Christmas morning. With your help we can change that and put a smile on a child’s face this Christmas, please do what you can and buy one extra gift and drop it off at Elland Road on Saturday in aid of Mission Christmas. We have 16,144 children that desperately need our help this Christmas which is far more than we have ever had, so far we have helped 4,627 children so we still have 11,517 children to help. Please do what we can and together we can make a difference”
