FOUR BIG GAMES TO GO – TONGE

Michael Tonge looks forward...

Midfielder Michael Tonge insists the final four games of the season won’t pass the squad by as United go in search of as many league points as possible.

Michael admits they will be four big games for United but he says that everyone will be looking for positive results.

“There isn’t a case of winding down before the end of the season,” said Tonge. “We have got four big games and we want to get as many points as we can.

“And the lads will be doing their utmost to be in the gaffer’s plans for next season.

“We’ll be looking to take the confidence from Saturday's win over Blackpool to get a positive result.

“I think that we have got enough points now and we can start to look forward. Everybody will be looking forward to the Barnsley game and it’s a derby match.

“We’ve got Forest on Monday as well, we have got some fantastic games towards the end of the season.”

After being in and out of the side this season the midfielder has now started the last four matches and says he is enjoying playing.

“I’ve come back into the team recently and I’ve really enjoyed it,” added Michael. “I think that midfield is one of the strongest areas we have. It is difficult to get in and the side has been moved around but at the minute I’m in the team and enjoying it.

“We are all pushing in the same direction and we want to get results and do well for the club.

“Obviously it’s disappointing when your not winning games but we are here to turn that around. Hopefully Saturday’s game at Barnsley will be a step in the right direction.”
