BERARDI: WE'RE A TEAM NOW

BERARDI: WE\'RE A TEAM NOW

Full-back discusses life at Leeds...

Full-back Gaetano Berardi feels fully adapted to English football and has underlined the team spirit within the current United squad.

Berardi spoke to some of the local media at Thorp Arch on Thursday afternoon and you can listen to his interview with BBC Radio Leeds by clicking here.

On his main areas of improvement since joining the club...
"Running, mentality and physicality."

On the red cards at the start of last season...
"I don’t want to think about it, it was not a good point for me. But now, the cards have finished."

On adapting to English football after moving from Italy...
"It is difficult. If we are in a good condition, Italian players can play with this programme. If we are not in a good condition, then it is difficult. Last season, the first two or three months were difficult for me and for the other players."

On settling into Leeds life and the team spirit around the club...
"The city and everything is very good. I started the pre-season and that is important. Now we are a team. Last season, there were many changes. That was difficult for the players and the trainers. This season we are a very nice group together. That is important."

On head coach Uwe Rosler...
"He likes more conditioning for the players – running every day. He likes ‘heavy metal’ in his play. We can do very well if we go through his way."

On Rosler's instructions to him...
"When I started pre-season he told me that I had to improve everything, every day. My body is better and I feel fitter. I need more power and I need more conditioning. If I can do this, I can play without problems."

On his start to the season...
"I’m playing right-back – my position. We are playing good with the full-backs every game. I hope to stay in this position through hard work every day and hard work every match."
