Last season’s affair between the two sides at Bloomfield Road, shown live on Sky Sports, ended in a 1-1 draw. Lee Peltier headed his one and only goal for the club in the first half, before a Tom Ince deflected drive ensured a share of the spoils.

Leeds suffered their first defeat of the 2012/13 season in 2-1 loss, away at Blackpool on August 21 2012. The visitors took a half-time lead, thanks to a Tom Lees header, but second-half goals from Nouha Dicko and Matt Phillips won the day for the hosts.

An Angel goal was the difference between the two sides on April 17 2012, as Blackpool kept up their play-off push with a 1-0 win over the Whites. To make matters worse, Leeds had defender Darren O’Dea sent off for two yellow cards, four minutes from time.

You have to go back to April 25 1967 to find the last time Leeds took all three points away from Blackpool. Leeds won the game thanks to goals from Billy Bremner and Jack Charlton.

Leeds' first ever win in the League Cup came in a second round replay away at Blackpool on October 5 1960. Having drawn the first game 0-0, Leeds won the replay 3-0 thanks to goals from Don Revie, John McCole and Colin Grainger.
