Byram available for Bournemouth clash…

Caretaker boss Neil Redfearn has options ahead of the Bournemouth clash on Tuesday evening (7.45pm) and is boosted by the availability of Sam Byram.

The United defender has now served his three match suspension following his dismissal on Watford on August 23 and is now back in contention.

“Sam is available now and that is a big plus,” insisted Redfearn.

“He has been chomping at the bit in training and he looks really sharp I have to say.”

Following United’s draw at Birmingham on Saturday Redfearn has no new injury worries ahead of the south coach encounter.

“No one is missing but we have got a couple of doubts,” said Neil.

“We have got a couple of niggles and knocks and we are also mindful of the fact that we are playing three games in a short space of time, with the second at Bournemouth on Tuesday.

“We have got to take that into consideration.”

The positive performances of Souleymane Doukara and Rudy Austin from the bench on Saturday could see the duo pushing for starts on Tuesday evening.

“The competition is healthy and I think the lads are realising that,” added the caretaker boss.

“Places are not a given anymore. The lads are working hard and are really trying to get in there and they are pushing themselves forward.

“We are encouraging that and we will make sure that is the case.”
