ROSS LOOKING FOR HOME COMFORTS

Skipper gears up for Millwall visit...

Leeds United return to Elland Road on Saturday looking for a reverse in fortunes on home soil.

The 5-1 success against Huddersfield in February is the only win in six outings at home this year, and the last two games, against Bolton and Reading, ended with heavy defeats.

But skipper Ross McCormack is hoping United can take confidence from a good display at Burnley last weekend.

“We are training well and everyone is focused on Millwall,” said Ross. “We’re all hoping to put together a decent run of results before the end of the season.

“I think that over the course of Saturday’s game we probably deserved a point at Burnley. If we’d have been 1-0 up at half time it would have been a bit easier to hold on but their goal just before the break killed us.

“We have got some good strikers at this club and it is all about getting the players into a formation and getting your better players on the pitch. The gaffer threw the three of us on from the start on Saturday and I think that it worked quite well.”

Millwall are currently third from bottom and are battling for their Championship survival.

“You know what you are going to get from Millwall,” said Ross. “They will come to Elland Road and will work hard. They won’t give you anything for nothing. It is up to us to go and produce a positive performance and result.

“In the lead up to December we were excellent at home and we’ll be looking to get that back.”

The skipper also believes the supporters will have a part to play when Millwall roll into town.

“We came in at half time at Burnley and they were singing and when we came in at full time they were still singing,” added Ross.

“I thought that the supporters were great on Saturday. The boys need the fans to drag us through the games and I thought they really did that at the weekend.”
