TEAM NEWS: SOL + CHARLIE IN CONTENTION

Steve Evans provides team news for the trip to QPR...

Steve Evans says United pair Sol Bamba and Charlie Taylor could feature at QPR on Saturday after recovering from injury and illness respectively.

Bamba missed last weekend’s home defeat to Rotherham with a toe injury, while Taylor has been sidelined since the start of October after suffering a bout of glandular fever.

Evans said: “Sol will be on the team coach – he’s improving.

“It’s a minute hairline crack on the small toe of his non-kicking foot.

“The big man is doing everything. If we need him out there he can be.”

Taylor, meanwhile, returned to full training earlier this week and came through a half of football unscathed in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Thorp Arch on Wednesday.

“Charlie is just incredibly fit, I don’t think he’s human!” said Evans.

“He came back into the fold 10 days ago and has done double sessions and single sessions. He’s worked through the pain barrier.

“He’s worked so hard and to see his recovery has been fantastic.

“He played 45 minutes in a match (behind closed doors) on Wednesday and he was as good as anything on the pitch up and down that left side.

“He’s definitely in contention for Saturday.”
