GET ACROSS THE LINE - REDFEARN

Head coach on the need to see games out...

Neil Redfearn says United must learn to "get across the line" after Blackburn’s second-half comeback condemned his side to a 2-1 defeat on Saturday.

Souleymane Doukara opened the scoring at Ewood Park on 33 minutes, turning home Adryan’s corner from a tight angle, as Redfearn’s men looked good value for their lead.

Jordan Rhodes levelled on 71 minutes, though, before converting a penalty with three minutes remaining on the clock to send the 6,839 travelling fans home disappointed.

"You look at the supporters and the way they got behind us and the way they enjoyed what happened, it was only that last little bit that has let everything down," said Redfearn.

"That’s the most important bit. We’ve got to get across the line.

"If we want to be successful and win things and get back in the Premier League, which we do, then these things are important."

But Redfearn insists that his side will not be feeling sorry for themselves during the week as he prepares for Derby County’s visit to Elland Road.

"I don’t let them get down, I don’t give them chance," he said.

"They’re not allowed to get down because at the end of the day, they’re in a privileged position.

"They’ve got to pick themselves up and battle and fight.

"They’ve got to play good football again against Derby and go and get a result. That’s what we’ve got to do."
