Five moments to remember...
It was Leeds at the last when the two sides met in the corresponding fixture at Elland Road last season. Billy Sharp scored the only goal of the game on his debut just two minutes from time.

Frank Strandli was another Leeds player who had a debut to remember at home to Middlesbrough on January 30, 1993. Strandli came off the bench to score the opening goal of the contest, which Leeds ended up winning 3-0. For the record, the Whites' other goalscorers were David Batty and Chris Fairclough.

David O’Leary’s last game in charge as Leeds United manager came on May 11 2002 in a typical end-of-season affair against Boro with little to play for. Leeds won the game 1-0 through an Alan Smith strike and the Irish boss soon departed to be replaced by Terry Venables.

Youngsters Mark Jackson, Harry Kewell and Jason Blunt were all drafted in to make their Leeds United debuts at home to Middlesbrough on March 30 1996. The game, which Leeds lost 1-0, will be best remembered for Lucas Radebe going in goal after John Lukic was forced off at half time.

Having lost their opening league game 5-2 at Newcastle, Leeds hit back to record their first victory of a momentous campaign at home to Middlesbrough on August 23 1989. Leeds took the lead through Bobby Davison, before Alan Comfort equalised for the hosts. An own goal from Gary Parkinson won the day for Leeds.
