Neil warnock against Blackpool

Neil Warnock paid tribute to his players after his side returned to winning ways against Blackpool at Elland Road.

Goals from David Norris and Steve Morison, his first for the club, capped off an excellent display in front of a season high crowd of 25,532.

"I can't fault any of them," said the boss. "They gave me everything.

"They were aware of the situation involving myself and over the past few weeks a few of them have apologised because we should have had nine points from the three league games before Wednesday night. To take just one is criminal, but it's how it is.

"They say it's never over until the fat lady sings and we have a lot of points to play for. We've got the best side since I've been here. We're lacking a Snodgrass or a Thomas to change the game that way, but Morison was outstanding, and the back lads…you never saw Peltier he was that good.

"Paddy made two fantastic saves and he had to do. I'd said to him before the game 'if ever I need you to keep a clean sheet, it's tonight' and he said 'I know I owe you one after Wolves.'

"I was delighted for them and for the fans because it was great wasn't it?

"People talk about a different manager, but if you can find another who will get a performance like that out of them…I was so proud of them. And I was proud of the fans as well. They totally got behind us right from the start.

"We had some early chances and you thought 'it's not going to be our night here' but everyone kept going and we got our just rewards.

"The wind was very strong in the second half. I thought we'd done well in the first half, but I felt the wind would help us in the second half. We kept them at bay and we kept them further out."
