Neil Warnock

Neil Warnock has confirmed that he has received a number of offers for his current players.

The boss transfer listed six players at the end of last season, and there has been increasing speculation surrounding the futures of striker Ross McCormack and, following the arrival of Paddy Kenny, goalkeeper Andy Lonergan.

"We've had a number of offers for Ross and we've had enquiries for other players," said the boss. "As and when it's right to tell people any more we will.

"We have an offer from a Championship club for Andy Lonergan as well, but it wasn't what we would call acceptable."

Adam Clayton was the first transfer-listed departure of the summer when he joined Huddersfield Town last midweek - and the boss admits casualties are an inevitable part of his re-building programme.

"I spoke to Adam and I think he's got the contract he wanted," said the boss.

"I couldn't guarantee him the position he wanted here because I have some irons in the fire in the midfield area.

"Sometimes you have to forfeit players and I want to bring in the players I want to bring."
