Lees set to pledge his future to United...
United defender Tom Lees is on the verge of agreeing a new deal to stay at the club - but boss Neil Warnock admits fellow youngster Aidy White may be set to depart.
Tom, who was named the Young Player of the Year last season and was a virtual ever present in the side, looks set to commit his future to the club by signing a new contract, but neither Aidy nor Ross McCormack have yet signed new deals.
Aidy, who broke into the Republic of Ireland under-21s last season, is out of contract this summer, but due to his age, the club would be entitled to compensation should the 20-year-old exercise his right to move elsewhere.
"We're talking to Tom Lees about his contract," confirmed the boss.
"We've heard nothing back from Aidy other than I don't expect that he will accept the offer from what I was told by his advisors.
"It's the same with Ross (McCormack). We'll have to wait and see what happens with that. It is difficult, but there's nothing you can do really."
In addition to the contract offers, the manager also placed a number of players on the transfer list at the end of the season. Adam Clayton, Paul Connolly, Billy Paynter, Ramon Nunez and Andy O'Brien are the five players who have been told they can leave if a suitable offer is made.
"There's been one or two people enquiring as you would expect, but there's been nothing such as a concrete offer for any of them," confirmed the boss.
