Statue to be unvelied on May 5...
Our legendary manager Don Revie will be "coming home" next month when a statue of the great man is unveiled on Lowfields Road.
The statue project has been a labour of love for Jim Cadman and sculptor Graham Ibbeson, and the grand unveiling is the culmination of many hours of hard work from the pair.
100s of fund raising events have taken place up and down the country - the most recent being an auction here at Elland Road - and the statue is set to be unveiled on Saturday May 5, to coincide with the 40th anniversary of our FA Cup final success.
Many members of the Revie team will be present and the 1972 FA Cup winning team will unveil the statue, which is situated on Lowfields Road opposite the new East Stand entrance, at 11am. All fans are invited to attend to unveiling.
As part of the day Jim has also organised a Pavilion Breakfast from 9am in the Centenary Pavilion, which is priced at £10, and there is a Celebration Lunch in the company of the Revie players after the unveiling which is priced at £85. Places are strictly limited at the lunch and anyone wishing to attend is advised to book early.
For more information about either please visit www.donreviestatue.com or e-mail Jim on jwc@donreviestatue.com Tickets for the Pavilion Breakfast are also on sale at the counters in the Elland Road Superstore.
