Adam Clayton

Midfielder Adam Clayton has joined manager Simon Grayson in hitting back at media speculation surrounding his Leeds United future.

Grayson was quick to rubbish a story about Robert Snodgrass and his contract talks being "terminated" following Saturday's win against Ipswich Town, and now midfielder Clayton has weighed in after reading stories about his own future.

"I've just read the same as what everyone has read, that's all," said

"People will make of it what they want, but for me, my future's at Leeds United and hopefully for the forseeable future."

The former Manchester City youngster linked up with Fabian Delph in a new-look central midfield partnership against Ipswich on Saturday, and he believes the seeds can be sown for a good pairing in the engine room.

"We are both the same type of players and get around the pitch and I think we complemented each other quite well in stages on Saturday," he added.

"Hopefully that can only grow and he can stay until the end of the season and we can get promotion."
