Forssell and Pattison score goals in victory...
Mikael Forssell and South African trialist Matty Pattison were the goalscorers as a Leeds United XI beat a Newcastle United XI 2-0 in a behind-closed-doors game on Tuesday.
Central midfielder Pattison, who has two South African international caps and has previously featured for Newcastle and Norwich, was joined in the United ranks by fellow trialist Craig Jones, who stars with Welsh Premier League side TNS and played on the right of the midfield.
USA international Robbie Rogers also featured in the game while there were run-outs for senior players Maik Taylor, Paul Connolly, Alex Bruce, and Lloyd Sam. Ben Parker also started the game as he continues to build-up his match fitness.
Forssell had been unlucky not to open the scoring earlier than he did, but the Finnish international fired United ahead with a long-range effort. The second goal saw Pattison deliver a good finish to complete the win.
