First team coach Glynn Snodin says Leeds United must start coming out of the traps quicker in games.

United were held to a 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace on Saturday after conceding another early goal to the home side.

"We didn't come out of the traps quick enough," said Snodin.

"They had three chances, three shots and that wasn't good enough, but after the first 10 minutes or so I thought we took control of the game and they sat in and looked to counter attack us. The second half was like attack v defence.

"The stats say we are a great second half team, but we want the stats to say we are a great first half team as well.

"At the moment we're not coming out firing so we'll have to look at that and keep working on it and make sure we are tighter against Ipswich."

Returning hero Robert Snodgrass rescued a deserved point for Leeds when he netted his ninth goal of the season shortly after entering the fray as a substitute.

It was Robert's first appearance since the Boxing Day defeat at Derby County, and came just two weeks after the player underwent an appendix operation.

"It's been awful for the lad," said Snodin.

"He was scoring goals and was on top of his form and all of a sudden he has his appendix out.

"It's nice that he's back early. He looked nice and sharp in training on Thursday and we decided to put him on the bench.

"It's fantastic for him that he's come on and scored once again, and he's carried on where he has left off by putting the ball in the back of the net."
