Thorp Arch

Defender Ben Parker will continue to build up his match fitness at Thorp Arch on Tuesday in a behind-closed-doors game against Newcastle United.

Ben, who first returned to action shortly before Christmas as an over-age player in a youth friendly, is slowly working his way back from a two-year injury nightmare that has seen numerous operations.

Ben will provide some senior experience in a team that will also feature Maik Taylor, Paul Connolly, Mikael Forssell, and Lloyd Sam.

Thorp Arch has played host to behind-closed-doors games on a regular basis this season since the club withdrew from the reserve league at the end of last term.

Glasgow Celtic are among the forthcoming visitors to the United training ground as the games continue over the coming weeks.
