Andros Townsend against Burnley

On loan winger Andros Townsend has double reason to hope Leeds United can claim an FA Cup scalp at Arsenal on Monday night.

While Townsend is desperate to play a part in what would be famous victory for Leeds, he also knows that the right result would delight the fans of his parent club Tottenham, the team he supported as a boy.

"I saw the Arsenal game when I looked at Leeds's fixtures and that was a massive thing for me," said Andros.

"I'm a Tottenham player and to play against Arsenal is special and I'll try my hardest to get one over on them. I've always been a Spurs fan so that makes it special as well.

"I don't feel any pressure about the game, I try and have fun and express myself. We could make Leeds fans and Spurs happy if we get a result so it's a win, win really.

"It's a one-off game and anyone can win a one-off game. We can go into it and enjoy it. It's a good platform for all of the players to play at the Emirates in front of the TV cameras and have a chance to shine.

"I remember watching the Arsenal game last year and when Leeds beat Man United and played Tottenham so I know all about the history Leeds have in the FA Cup."

Despite his Tottenham allegiances, Andros freely admits he is an admirer of the Gunners and the talent Arsene Wenger has at his disposal.

"They are a fabulous team and they produce some great players," he said.

"Look at the likes of Wilshere and Frimpong, they produce young players. Every team looks to do that and I think Arsenal have got it down to a tee."

The youngster is now coming to the end of his first week as a Leeds United player and after playing a key role in Monday's win against Burnley, the Londoner has settled in well to his new surrounds.

"It's been a good week and I think I've settled in well," he said.

"We had the game on Monday which was the perfect chance to get to know the team and it was a good win for us. Personally it was a good debut for me and we got the result in pretty dramatic circumstances so it was the perfect start really.

"The fans were amazing at the game and, having played at Elland Road before, it was everything I thought it would be really."

One story which emerged during the aftermath was that Andros's boots were delivered to Elland Road by taxi on the morning of his debut.

"I didn't exactly leave them down south," he smiled.

"I got told at 11pm on the Saturday night I was going to Leeds and left home at 6am the following morning to come up. Obviously the training ground wasn't open so I couldn't get my boots, so I didn't forget them…"
