Danny Pugh celebrates

Utility man Danny Pugh will become Leeds United's first permanent signing of the January transfer window when he completes the formalities of his switch from Stoke City on Tuesday.

The 29-year-old joined the club initially on loan in September with an agreement in place to make the switch permanent in January.

Danny, who has made 17 appearances during his second spell with the club, joins on a two-and-a-half-year contract.

"Danny is a versatile player and is a good addition to the squad," said boss Simon Grayson.

"He can play in a few positions, he has already shown people what he is about, and it's good to have him on a permanent basis."

United have already made one loan signing this January with Tottenham winger Andros Townsend arriving until the end of the season. Andros made his debut against Burnley on Monday.
