Striker Billy Paynter has joined Brighton and Hove Albion on loan.

The 27-year-old has joined the south coast club on a loan deal until January 2. United have a 24-hour recall after the first 28 days of his loan.

Billy joined Leeds from Swindon Town during the summer of 2010 and made 22 appearances for the club last season, 15 coming as substitute, after missing the early months through injury.

The scouser, who scored his first goal against Preston in March, has found opportunities limited this season and his only appearance came on the opening day of the season at Southampton.
