Fitness factor working for United...
Defender Aidy White believes Leeds United's staying power is already paying dividends in the club's quest for glory.
Darren O'Dea's injury time winner at Peterborough on Saturday added to stoppage time equalisers at both Brighton and West Ham. The Bristol City win was settled by a goal four minutes from time while Crystal Palace were beaten by a goal six minutes from time.
"We work hard on our fitness," said Aidy.
"We have a great fitness coach who is constantly on at us about getting up and down the pitch, and taking on the right fluids and you have to do that.
"You run a marathon if you have to for the shirt.
"On Saturday we were thankful we just nicked one at the other end. On Tuesday we were gutted to concede in the last 10 seconds so we were thankful to do it ourselves."
Aidy is one of several homegrown youngsters who has featured in the first team squad this season and the newly-capped Republic of Ireland international is enjoying life as a senior regular.
"In general the team have been doing okay, although we still have a lot to improve on, but it's been great to be playing," he said.
"I'm thankful of the opportunity. I know a lot of lads who have come through and you want that opportunity.
"Sometimes you have to go out on loan like I did, but that's what you have to do. It's all part of the learning curve."
United now head for Birmingham City on Wednesday evening to meet the newly-relegated Blues.
"They will be a good side," said Aidy. "They pass it well and they are physical.
"They have come down from the Premier League, they have kept some good players, and it'll be very difficult, but we'll go down there looking to get a good result."
