Striker ready for a busy period...
Striker Ross McCormack is hoping Leeds United can use Friday's 3-0 win at Doncaster Rovers as the platform for a busy month.
Friday's game started a run of seven games in 22 days for Simon Grayson's men and their resolve will be tested to the full over the next three weeks as the Championship season rattles along at pace towards the third international break of the campaign.
Included in that run are home games against Coventry, Cardiff, and Blackpool, with trips to Peterborough United, Birmingham City, and Leicester City.
"It's Saturday-Tuesday most weeks, but we'll be looking to turn in performances like we did on Friday and keep clean sheets," said Ross.
"If we can keep a clean sheet we look like we're going to win every game because we have got players who can go and attack.
"Clean sheets give you confidence and I think massive credit deserved to go to the midfield on Friday, not just the defence and the goalkeeper. Jonny and Adam were fantastic, and what they gave the back four was incredible.
"Lonners gives so much confidence to the back two, Leesy and Darren O'Dea, as well. I thought one of them would have been man of the match, but Andy (Keogh) was fantastic. He takes so much work off you and allows you to run the channels.
"He's incredible to play with. I've played with a few over the years, but none of them have worked the way he works. He's a machine. He's a physically strong lad, he works hard on strength and fitness and he's a good professional."
The 3-0 success in South Yorkshire saw Ross bag his 10th goal of the season with what was his most stunning effort yet, an overhead kick with his back to goal.
"It was a poor first touch," smiled the striker. "If it'd have been decent I'd have been looking to lay it off.
"It was just instinct, you know. I'm playing with confidence and instinct and at the moment it just feels like anything I hit is going in on target."
As the Championship's leading goalscorer, it was something of a mystery when the Scot was not included in his country's squad for their recent international matches.
"It's not for me to say why," said Ross. "All I can do is keep performing for Leeds and hopefully the gaffer will have a look and put me in the next squad."
