Simon Grayson at Southampton

Simon Grayson firmly believes his side will face "a very different" Doncaster outfit at the Keepmoat Stadium on Friday (7.45pm).

United have already beaten Doncaster once this season, when a young Leeds team won 2-1 in the Carling Cup thanks to two Ramon Nunez goals.

Rovers were rock bottom of the league that day and had just one point to their name. Since then, Sean O'Driscoll has departed as manager, being replaced by Dean Saunders, and Rovers have picked up seven points from their last available nine.

"We will come up against a different side with new players," said the United manager.

"Deano has brought in some good players and he's also been able to welcome back some of the players who were injured earlier in the season.

"Sean was maybe unfortunate in that he was working with a lot of injuries at the start of the season with the likes of Sharp, Coppinger, and Hayter all out, but they have come back now and Dean has the benefit of that and the new players he has brought in.

"Dean has attracted some big players and we're under no illusion that it will be tough."

Wigan goalkeeper Chris Kirkland is the latest arrival at Doncaster, on loan, and he follows Pascal Chimbonda to the Keepmoat Stadium as Saunders looks to bolster the experience in is squad.

Jon Parkin is another player who has arrived at the Keepmoat, on loan from Cardiff, and Leeds fans need no reminding about the striker's scoring exploits for Preston during an Elland Road encounter last season.

"Not only are Doncaster are different team to the one we played in the Carling Cup, they are also playing differently too," said Grayson.

"I saw them play against Hull and they are more direct than they were and are mixing things up more. Parkin gives them an outlet to be more direct and they are playing to their personnel.

"But we're looking to win the game. If we can get the result, we'll go into the top-six for the first time which will be nice. It might be for less than 24 hours, but it'd be nice to extend our run and get ourselves in there.

"We've had a good, picking up 10 points from the last 12, and we're looking to continue that on Friday with another positive result."
