Finnish star signs United deal...
Leeds United have signed Finland international midfielder Mika Vayrynen.
The 29-year-old, who has won 54 caps for his country, has signed a one-year contract with a further year's option.
Mika, who started his career with FC Lahti in Finland, was with Dutch outfit Hereenveen last season. He first joined the Dutch club in 2001, but spent three years with PSV Eindhoven between 2005-08.
United manager Simon Grayson said: "We're delighted to sign Mika. There were good offers from other clubs on the continent, but he has turned them down because of his ambition to play for Leeds and be successful here.
"He's an experienced midfielder, who has won over 50 caps for his country, and he has a fantastic pedigree. He has played with PSV and he had a successful season at Hereenveen last season.
"He can play as an attacking midfielder or as a holding midfielder and he's delighted to get the opportunity to come here."
Mika, who has five international goals to his name, joins fellow countryman Mikael Forssell at Elland Road.
