Jlloyd Samuel

United manager Simon Grayson is hoping to take a closer look at the three players who arrived on trial as the week goes on.

Former Aston Villa youngsters Jlloyd Samuel and Isaiah Osbourne both featured as substitutes in the 1-0 win at Rochdale while an un-named trialist impressed during the opening 45 minutes.

While Samuel and Osbourne were instantly recognisable to fans at Rochdale, Grayson opted to keep the name of his trialist winger under wraps.

"He's a foreign player who trained on Monday," said the boss.

"He was recommended to us, and we thought it was a good opportunity. He did well, was positive with the ball, worked hard, and he's a big lad too.

"We brought Jlloyd and Isaiah on in the second half, and they both have Premier League experience and are keen to get contracts. It's not a question of ability with those two. Jloyd showed he's capable of handling the ball and Isaiah did well. They'll only get better as they go on.

"All three have showed willing in terms of coming in and wanting to show what they can do. Jlloyd and Isaiah only came in on Tuesday morning, but they will all be with us until the weekend, play a part at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, and we'll make a decision from there."
