Paddy Kisnorbo in action

Paddy Kisnorbo returned to a Leeds United starting line-up for the first time in 16 months at Falkirk on Wednesday - and the proud Aussie was delighted to be back.

Having endured a year-long spell on the sidelines following his Achilles injury sustained in March 2010, Paddy made a brief appearance, as a substitute in the final game of last season.

He returned to Australia over the summer to continue his rehab, but is now back with United and is delighted to be playing a part.

"It felt good on Wednesday especially after the year I've had," said Paddy after playing for an hour in the 2-0 win against Falkirk. "It was good to get on the pitch and get a result as well.

"It was all about fitness and winning, and keeping a clean sheet. We just have to build on that now. We have been working hard and doing a lot of running, now we need to get better at the things we need to get better at.

"I feel fit and I can get more fit. we've had a hard pre-season but we will continue to get fitter and better as time goes on. I've been working hard pretty much every day doing a lot of running, weight strength work, I just want to keep improving."

Paddy's return provided a further boost on the eve of the trip to Scotland when he signed a new two-year deal with the club.

"I've always wanted to stay here," he explained. "I've always said that.

"I'm grateful Leeds have given me the opportunity to stay for an initial two years and I want to stay longer.

"I just want to do as well as I can, play as well as I can and help Leeds as much as I can."
