Simon GraysonUnited manager Simon Grayson is optimistic that he is close to adding further to his squad.

The boss has already brought in goalkeeper Paul Rachubka from Blackpool while Portsmouth midfielder Michael Brown joined up on Monday.

"We're still working hard to bring extra recruits in," he said.

"We know what we need to make us better. We're working hard and hopefully we can have more news in the next days or the next week."

Media speculation has seen the boss linked with a host of players, notably goalkeeping duo Andy Lonergan from Preston and Fulham's Leeds-born stopper David Stockdale.

"If you look over the last few weeks we have been linked with every goalkeeper on the planet including some good ones," added the boss.

"We try and do our business quietly, but it shows the type of players we want. We are looking to bring one but will try to keep it quiet as we always do."
