Davide and Jonny join first Sportingbet fans forum...
Almost 100 lucky United fans were able to enjoy an evening in the company of Davide Somma and Jonny Howson at Elland Road this week, courtesy of Sportingbet.
The duo took part in an informal question and answer session and met and chatted fans during the first ever Sportingbet Leeds United fans forum.
"We were there for Sportingbet for a Q&A with the fans," said Davide.
"The fans are 100 per cent behind us and we try and give them that back. It was an enjoyable evening with some good questions."
Naturally, Davide was asked about the club's chances of promotion.
"We're positive," he said. "You can't get down when a couple of results don't go your way. We have great coaching staff here, great players and we got promoted last season. Sometimes it's tough when teams are grinding out. You have to be patient. We have good players and a good team and we can do it."
Davide was also asked about his recent recall and the 'super sub' tag which he seems to have carried this season.
"It was good to start, but any way I can help the team I will," he said. "You want to play and start every game, but you respect the manager's decisions and when I've come on I've done well. I'm not too bothered (about the super sub tag). I'll take that for now, and we'll see for the future."
And, unsurprisingly, talk turned towards Friday's Elland Road clash with Reading.
"Friday is massive and I'd love to be a part of it," said Dave. "They're on an excellent run, but anything can happen on the night."
