Defender Paul Connolly is closing in on a first team return for Leeds United.

The summer signing is back in training again after a hamstring injury, although manager Simon Grayson says Saturday's clash with Doncaster will come too soon.

"Conns has trained with us a couple of times this week," he said. "He's not in contention for the weekend, but may be back for the Preston game."

Lloyd Sam has also been ruled out of Saturday's game with the same virus that laid him low at Swansea last weekend.

"Lloyd won't play and we have one or two niggles, but it'll largely be the same squad," said the boss.

"The options are there to change it around if I want to do that. We played a number of lads in the reserves on Wednesday because I wanted them to get some game time in.

"We've got two games in the space of a few days and it may be that they come in Saturday or come in on Tuesday, whenever I want them to be ready when called upon."
