Sanchez Watt

United loan star Sanchez Watt is hoping to make Simon Grayson's squad for Saturday's trip to Arsenal - despite a head injury rendering him 50/50 as the countdown begins.

The 19-year-old, who is on a season long loan from the Gunners and only learnt of his eligibility for the tie this week, is rated as doubtful after suffering a head injury at Cardiff on Tuesday.

Watt admits he is desperate to play the game, and Grayson has said he will assess his availability closer to the weekend.

"It's a big game and because I've played for Arsenal and am now at Leeds, it'll be great," said Sanchez, who has made three appearances for Arsene Wenger's side.

"At first I thought I couldn't play then I got a message this week that I could play when I was at home with the head injury.

"I really don't want to miss this game."

The prospect of a trip to the Emirates has excited Sanchez since the draw was made and, after being given permission by Arsenal to play, he is hoping he can recover in time to savour what he believes will be a great experience for all connected with Leeds.

"If I play or am involved I'll try my best because I wouldn't want to lose my place in the side," he said.

"It'll be a hard game, but I watched Leeds beat Man United last season and there's a lot of shocks.

"It'll be a good experience for everyone. Arsenal play pass and move so it will be a big test.

"This Arsenal team has something this year. They are growing of age and people like Jack Wilshere are playing well and that gives me a confidence.

"But this is why you play because you want to play in big games."
