What a year! What a season so far! And what a game to finish off 2010! There's been plenty to shout about for Leeds United supporters the past 12 months as Simon Grayson has moulded together an enterprising squad to win promotion back to the Championship and that seems to be just the start of things to come...

Andy O'Brien scored an own goal as the Whites surrendered a two-goal lead and missed the chance to return to the top two in the Championship table on Tuesday. The fact that we are rueing the chance to be in the top two at the turn of the year shows what a journey Leeds fans have been on.

But despite the late set-backs against Portsmouth, Leeds have extended their unbeaten run to 11 matches and sit fourth in the table, level on points with Welsh rivals Cardiff and Swansea going into the New Year.

The outstanding recent run has seen Sportingbet slash their odds on Leeds winning promotion to 3/1 and they'll be given another firm test of their credentials when under-performing Middlesbrough arrive at Elland Road for New Year's Day.

The Whites have been chalked up as 4/5 favourites with Sportingbet to come away with another three points. Leeds won 2-1 at the Riverside Stadium earlier this season but Boro are under new management with Tony Mowbray and have won on both their previous two visits to Yorkshire, leaving them at 3/1 to steal an away victory. The draw is priced up at 12/5.

If you haven't already jumped on the goal bandwagon that follows Leeds around the Championship, we suggest you take a look at the 4/5 on offer with Sportingbet that we'll see Over 2.5 Goals in the game. In 12 home games already this season, home supporters have seen 47 goals - that's a huge average of almost four goals a game. If you're think this fixture will continue that average, you can get 11/5 on Over 3.5 Goals scored in the game.

There's a smaller price of 4/6 on Both Teams To Score but you can back a Draw/Leeds in the Double Result market at 7/2* with Sportingbet or if you fancy yourself in the Correct Score market, have a look towards a 3-1 home win at 12/1.

A 3-2 Whites win is a huge 25/1 but if you expect things to be tight, a 1-1 draw is available at 11/2. And finally, for those who remain supremely confident Grayson's lads will take all three points on New Year's Day, Sportingbet are offering 11/5 on Leeds to win -1 in the Goal Handicap market.
