Jason Brown

The loan deals for goalkeeping duo Jason Brown and Ben Alnwick have come to an end.

Brown made four appearances following his arrival from Blackburn in September, including one as a substitute when he replaced the injured Shane Higgs at Ipswich.

The 28-year-old was orginally signed after Kasper Schmeichel suffered a foot injury, but the Dane has now returned.

Higgs also suffered injury at Ipswich, leaving Brown as the only senior goalkeeper at Simon Grayson's disposal for the trip to Middlesbrough.

Alnwick was signed on loan on the eve of that Boro game, but after failing to make an appearance he returned to Tottenham early for treatment on a hamstring injury.

Both Schmeichel and Higgs are now free from injury.

"I'd like to thank both players and their clubs for allowing them to come," said the United boss.

"Ben picked up an injury and went back early, but Jason has been good to have around and he stepped up and did everything that was asked of him."
