Robert Snodgrass and Billy Paynter completed their first full 90 minutes since pre-season on Tuesday as Leeds United beat Middlesbrough in a behind-closed-doors game at Thorp Arch.

Snodgrass looked particularly sharp on his return to action as a United XI beat the Teessiders 3-1.

The game also saw new signings Amdy Faye and Ramon Nunez complete 90 minutes with the latter also turning in an impressive performance.

Nunez scored a well-taken goal for United, while Mike Grella picked up a confidence boosting brace, the second a close range header following a Nunez cross.

While the senior XI won, our under-18 side were also victorious against Middlesbrough at Thorp Arch, winning 4-0. James Baxendale and Dominic Poleon were among the scorers.
