Manager Simon Grayson is calling on his players to set the standards again when Leeds United travel to Watford on Saturday.

Grayson's men were superb against Millwall last weekend, picking up a first league win of the season, but the midweek performance against Leicester failed to reach the same standards, and despite being untroubled for much of the game, United paid the price for two mistakes.

"The Millwall performance was really good and was a level we set ourselves," said the boss.

"On Tuesday we were comfortable. Sometimes you can be comfortable and win games, but we made a few mistakes and got punished.

"We have to eradicate those because you get punished in this league. We don't like losing games and we'll be looking to come back from that at Watford.

"You'd like to get to the Millwall level every week, but if we have to grind out a result on Saturday we'll do that. If we can put on a performance like Millwall we'll do that."

Malky Mackay's Watford side are unbeaten in their three opening league games. An opening weekend win at Norwich City was followed by draws against Coventry City and Hull City.

The Hornets started the campaign among the favourites for relegation, but Grayson isn't underestimating a side that possesses the attacking threat of former Middlesbrough marksman and one-time Leeds loan man Danny Graham.

"Watford have had some decent results," said the boss. "Malky has got them well orgainsed. They're established in this league and we're the new boys so we'll go there as underdogs.

"We'll look to impose ourselves on them, be solid as a group, and try and get a result.

"We'll get opportunities with the players we have, but equally we are aware of the threat of Graham, Sordell, and Troy Deeney."

The game brings about the end of the first phase of the Championship season with an international break ensuring there are no more league games until September 11.

"Most players have had a busy start to the season," added the boss.

"We have a few niggles and it's an opportunity to have a breather and also have some good sessions on the training ground with tactical stuff we need time to work on."
