Neill Collins

Central defender Neill Collins is hoping Leeds United can use Tuesday's Carling Cup tie with Leicester City as the platform for developing a winning habit.

United beat Millwall in the league on Saturday and Tuesday's second round tie against the Foxes is an opportunity to record back-to-back wins ahead of the weekend trip to Watford.

Neill says the tie has no relevance in terms of the squad gaining more experience playing against Championship opposition, but admits the incentive is there to pick up another victory.

"It won't be the same as going to Watford on Saturday, that's a different game," said Neill.

"This isn't the same in terms because on a Saturday you are playing for three points. This is a cup tie and is more of a one-off.

"But you want to get in the winning habit and after Saturday this is a chance for us to do that.

"Saturday was an excellent performance against Millwall and it was a big result to get that first three points. We set good standards that we want to keep up.

Over 12,000 turned out for the first round tie against Lincoln City and the visit of Leicester City could see the attendance come close to 15,000.

"The fans have been fantastic," added Neill. "We've been behind in the last two league games and they've stuck with us.

"If we can keep it up and the fans can keep it up it will be a hard place to come.

"You like to try and get through and play one of the big boys, or try and get as far on as you can.

"We have a tough game, but it's one we want to progress in."

Tickets are £15 and £8 and fans are advised to buy in advance and to collect tickets as early as possible on the night.
