Jonny Howson celebrates against Lincoln

United midfielder Jonny Howson says history will count for nothing when Leeds lock horns with old rivals Millwall at Elland Road on Saturday (12.30pm).

United have beaten the Lions just once in the last six meetings, and memories of Millwall's Elland Road win in March are still fresh in the memory.

Kenny Jackett's side also proved our conquerors in the Play-Off semi-finals two seasons ago, and they will arrive at Elland Road on Saturday in confident mood.

"In football you never want it said that such and such is a bogey team," said Jonny.

"It is a disappointing stat, but it is just another game.

"It doesn't matter what's happened in the past, you can't affect that, but you can use it as added motivation because you don't want it to happen again.

"They came here at a vital stage last season when we needed the points and you don't like being beaten, but I don't think that will count for anything this weekend.

"It'll be high intensity game whatever. They all are, it doesn't matter who you are playing.

"You are always expecting a battle and it's physical whoever you play."
