New signings delighted to get off the mark...
Summer siging Billy Paynter was delighted to get off the mark in Leeds colours when he scored his first goal in Kosice.
The former Swindon marksman volleyed home the only goal of United's final game in Slovakia, and the scouser was pleased to notch his first in a white shirt.
"It's very pleasing because you want to hit the ground running and it was nice to get a goal," he said.
"I feel like every time I go on the pitch I can get a goal and that's what I want to do.
"You want to get confidence up for the start of the season.
"There's friendly competition for places there. You want players in different areas of the pitch and I want to give the gaffer something to think about."
The 1-0 win in Kosice saw Billy make his second 45-minute appearance in a Leeds shirt, following on from his debut in Ruzomberok just four days earlier.
"It was very warm out there in both games and the boys worked hard," he said.
"That's what pre-season games are about - working hard, putting it in and getting ready for the season,
"It's a personal bonus scoring, but I'm happy to be out there getting my fitness in."
The striker also had a special word for the Leeds fans who travelled to Eastern Europe for the club's first two games of the summer.
"The fans have travelled thousands of miles and full credit to them," he added.
"They want to see their team win, and I'm sure they'll have had a pint or two and enjoyed themselves."
