The week here is now heading into it's final stages with Thursday the last full day of training before the final game on tour against MFK Košice on Friday night. 

On Wednesday, the players and I headed up to the High Tatras mountains for a walk around the lake 2000 metres up. Despite my tounge in cheek suggestions that it was 'no Otley Chevin' it has to be one of the most stunning places I've ever visited.

The Water looked crystal clear while the views of the mountain above and the valley below were breath-taking.

Later on a few of the players took part in a session of Cyrotherapy. A cold treatment that's proving more and more popular in sport but at the moment it's only really used by elite athletes.

The players seemed to enjoy the experience apart from the clothes they had to wear to go into the -160 degrees chamber. A head band around the ears, boxer shorts, thermal socks pulled up to the knee, a face mask and to top it off a pair of clogs!

In the afternoon I managed to borrow a bike from the hotel and visit some of the sights Poprad has to offer. The town has an old/new split down the middle and is a similar size to Halifax.

The town square revolves around the Church and while the locals got on with their daily lives I noticed one common trend, Ice Cream. Every other person I saw was eating an Ice Cream - I subsequently discovered Slovaks love Ice Cream as much as Messers Ben and Jerry. I managed to resist though and instead spent some time looking at the shops.

Aside from the big High street names we get in the UK the other stores proved a mystery. One window I looked had Slippers, Shampoo and a Telescope.

Thursday is a tough one for the players with some hard training sessions over the road in the local stadium.
