Paul Connolly

Leeds United have signed Derby County defender Paul Connolly.

Connolly joins on a three -year contract and is the third arrival of the summer, joining Kasper Schmeichel and Billy Paynter.

Delighted United boss Simon Grayson said: "Paul brings plenty of experience and know-how to the squad.

"He has made a lot of appearances at this level for both Plymouth and Derby. He has captained teams in the Championship and he is a good addition to our squad."

Paul joins from Pride Park having made 72 appearances for the club during a two-year stay in the East Midlands.

The 26-year-old right back also spent a period on loan at Sheffield United last season where he made 7 appearances.

Born in Liverpool, Paul started his career at Plymouth Argyle where he progressed through the youth ranks.

He made his debut during the 2000/01 season and made 176 appearances for the Devon club before opting to join Derby on a free transfer in 2008.
