Leigh Bromby celebrates Jonny Howsons goal

Defender Leigh Bromby says Leeds United have no reason to fear returning to the Championship.

It may have been three years since United were last in the second tier, but the former Sheffield United defender believes Leeds will adjust quickly to the standard required.

United are just one step away from a Premier League return now, and Leigh is confident that United can carry the momentum forward from the successful League One campaign.

"You always get momentum from going up and it's important to carry that on," said Leigh.

"There'll be a great feeling around the club all summer, a proper feeling of optimism and it can be a real help to us.

"We're going into a difficult league but we'll all be in a good frame of mind next season and very positive on the back of promotion. We won't be going into the Championship with any fear."

As a boyhood United fan, Leigh admits promotion was extra special.

"You've got to savour moments like this and I'll savour it for the whole summer," he added.

"It makes your summer brilliant and I'm looking forward to next season already.

"This promotion is the highlight of my career, with me being a Leeds fan."
