Fans rush to snap up MOT...
Leeds United fans have been snapping up the new downloadable re-release of Leeds, Leeds, Leeds (Marching On Together) increasing expectations of chart success next weekend.
The track, digitally re-mastered, was available to download from Sunday and was proving one of the hottest releases of the weekend.
The club's anthem quickly hit number one in the Amazon Download chart and was also faring well in the iTunes chart and the play.com chart.
The re-release, which has the full support of original creator Les Reed, was masterminded by lifelong Leeds fans Ian De Whytell, Kevin Smith, and Dave Whittaker.
A Facebook site, titled Celebrate Promotion by making Leeds, Leeds, Leeds (Marching On Together) number one, has almost 30,000 fans and many wasted little time in downloading the track.
The track is available for just 79p from iTunes here, from Amazon here, play.com here, Tesco.com here, or Napster here. The track can also be bought from eMusic (subscription required) here.
A number of fans have bought an earlier version of MOT over the last 24 hours, but that won't count towards a chart placing next weekend. The links above go to the re-release.
It's thought around 50,000 downloads could be enough to take the song to the top of the charts next weekend.
