Rob's feels on top of the world...
A jubiliant Robert Snodgrass not only fulfiled his promotion dream last weekend - but also a promise he made to Leeds fans after the timid home defeat at the hands of promotion rivals Swindon some weeks earlier.
United's promotion hopes were hanging by a thread after the 3-0 home reverse at the hands of Swindon at the start of April, and the same evening Snoddy and the majority of his team-mates attended the Leeds Fans Remembrance evening in the Conference and Exhibition Centre at Elland Road.
"I saw a few fans after that game and I promised them...I promised them we would get promoted, and it's the best feeling in the world," said a delighted Snoddy.
"The fans have craved this, but we made it hard for them, and people doubted us after the Swindon game.
"The fans could have chucked it in after the games against Millwall and Swindon, and even on Saturday at one stage, but they didn't.
"In the first part of the season we put on a show for them, and in the second we made it harder, but we got there.
"We did it the hard way, but everyone was so supportive and we got there.
"Actions speak louder than words and while we'd talked about it, we had to do the job, and we did it.
"People speak about promotion as the best feeling and they're right."
United can now set sights on tackling the Football League's leading clubs next season before mounting an assault to return to the Premiership.
"Promotion was the only thing we set out to do at the start of the season," said Snoddy.
"There's so many things you can take from it. Some people don't realise how big this club is. We'll be pushing again.
"This is a Premiership club and we have to push on."
