Players huddle at Charlton

Skipper Richard Naylor took Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Charlton firmly on the chin as Leeds United now face a must-win Elland Road clash with Bristol Rovers next weekend.

Naylor, who turned an Akpo Sodje header beyond Shane Higgs during the dying minutes at Charlton on Saturday, admits the Valley defeat was a missed opportunity, but is determined to finish the job off at Elland Road.

"We seem to be doing it the hard way but it's still in our hands," said the captain.

"We know if we turn on a performance at Elland Road we will get promoted. And it would be lovely to finish it off in front of our fans.

"Our fans have been through it all. They know how hard we make it for ourselves - this is nothing new to them.

"I'm confident. The way we played against Charlton showed we are a decent side - and we'll do it.

"We knew Millwall were losing and we were totally focused on winning. We threw caution to the wind for the last 15 minutes or so because we were trying to win the game - that's why the gaffer put on every striker at the club.

"We just have to take it on the chin and finish it off next week."
