Midfielder delighted with important victory...
Midfielder Micky Doyle felt Tuesday's 4-1 hammering of Tranmere Rovers was a monkey off the club's back.
United had lost just one in eight league games prior to the trip to the Wirral, but Tuesday's victory was the second during that same period and was also the first away win in League One in 2010.
"It was a monkey off our back," said Micky.
"We'd played well on Saturday against Brentford and were disappointed not to get the result, but we got a great start at Tranmere that set us on our way. We never looked back after the goal. It was a great team performance.
"We all knew everyone was watching with it being our game in hand to see how we would do, but it's one result. We've got to kick on now and finish the job we started.
"We wanted to win the league and we still do."
United are four points behind leaders Norwich - the two sides meet at Carrow Road on March 27 - and with 11 games remaining, Simon Grayson's side are aiming to complete the promotion challenge sooner rather than later.
"It's a long season and it's not always going to be rosey in the garden," said Micky.
"Sometimes you have your backs to the wall. We've had our ups and downs and only lost one in nine. It was important that we got another win, and that's how we have to perform week-in week-out now.
"It's cup finals all the way now to the end of the season but if we can win games the quicker the better, because we can get promoted and then focus on winning the league."
