Robert Snodgrass is mobbed after scoring

Robert Snodgrass has sounded the rallying call ahead of Tuesday's Elland Road clash with Oldham.

The top of League One is taking on a congested look at the moment with just six points seperating leaders Norwich from fourth-placed Charlton.

Leeds remain in second place, one point clear of Colchester, but a win against Oldham would be enough to see Simon Grayson's men move level top with Norwich.

"We have to give ourselves the best possible chance of achieving promotion," said Robert. "We have a big squad and it's up to us to put things right.

"Saturday was frustrating and  we need to get back to basics. It's up to us do that and realise that we have a good chance of getting promoted, and we have to take it.

"I know the fans are a little frustrated and they want to see us win every game but it doesn't work every game.

"We're in it together as a club and we need them just as much as they want us to perform. This is a great chance for us to get promoted.

"On Saturday, Norwich dropped points and Colchester and Charlton picked them up, but we are still well placed.

"We have to be prepared for Oldham on Tuesday and get in their faces and show them that we have confidence and belief.

"We are up here on merit and not through luck. It's up to us show them we are Leeds United.

Snoddy stepped off the bench against Brighton on Saturday to secure United a 95th minute equaliser against the Seagulls - but was still feeling frustrated about his performance a few days earlier against Walsall.

"Last Tuesday against Walsall was one of the worst performances I've had for Leeds United and that's not got out of my head," he added.

"I've always worked hard and tried my best, but for whatever reason it didn't happen against Walsall.

"The gaffer has made some good decisions this season when we have nicked the points, and I came on and got the goal on Saturday."
