Jermaine Beckford battles against Spurs

United manager Simon Grayson says he has no major concerns over the fitness of striker Jermaine Beckford.

The club's leading goalscorer was substituted at half-time at Hartlepool on Saturday, but the boss says the withdrawal of Becks was precautionary.

"His hamstring was tight," said Grayson.

"It's nothing major, but we're not taking any chances.

"He could have played on, but we have a lot of games coming up."

Saturday's 2-2 draw at Hartlepool also saw the continued absence of Paddy Kisnorbo (calf) and Neil Kilkenny (ankle) from the United side.

"They weren't far off," added the boss.

"But as I've always said I'm not rushing people back, and I felt we had people in the team who had done well.

"We've got a game on Tuesday, we'll see where we are for that one."
