United chairman Ken Bates on Simon Grayson...
Leeds United chairman Ken Bates has dismissed the weekend media speculation linking manager Simon Grayson with Premier League Burnley.
Grayson was quizzed about the Burnley link following Saturday's game against Wycombe, but was quick to reiterate his committment to Leeds and his desire to take the club forward.
And the United chairman, who has described his relationship with Grayson as his best with a manager for almost 30 years, is also hoping Grayson can fulfil his Premier League ambition at Elland Road.
"Why would he want to leave Leeds for Burnley?" the chairman said on Yorkshire Radio. "We have a bigger population and bigger gates, and we're a club on the up.
"Simon has already stated the same things and asked why would he want to leave.
"He wants to manage in the Premiership with Leeds United and hopefully he will do that sooner rather than later."
You can hear more from Ken Bates on Yorkshire Radio from 7pm on Wednesday...
