Dave Martin

Liverpool goalkeeper David Martin will remain on loan at Elland Road until January 30.

The youngster was due to return to Anfield following Monday's trip to Stockport County, but the two clubs have agreed an extension for a further month.

United boss Simon Grayson, who has been impressed by Martin, took the decision to seek an extension after learning that Shane Higgs will have to wait a while longer before making a return to action due to a thigh problem.

Martin, who made his United debut against Accrington Stanley in the JPT, will provide continued competition for Casper Ankergren during the coming month.

Liverpool have also granted Martin permission to play in the FA Cup.

The club has also extended the loan deals of two young players to League Two clubs.

Central defender Tom Lees will remain with Accrington Stanley until the end of the season and striker Tom Elliott will stay on at Bury until May.
